Edinburgh Fringe 2025: Justin Currie (Del Amitri) at The Stand (August 23, 2-3pm)
It’s Edinburgh’s legendary Comedy Club, The Stand’s 30th birthday this year, and I'm thrilled to be bringing A Kick Up The Arts to the Fringe for a week of lunchtime live podcast shows as part of their celebrations - including one-hour conversations with special guests Del Amitri’s Justin Currie (August 23rd); stage, screen and music icon Barbara Dickson (August 20th); and actor, broadcaster and panto villain(ess) Grant Stott (August 21st) - with more to be announced in the coming weeks. Come and join us! Or else.
Tickets are on-sale now, the full run is August 18-24 (not 22), 2-3pm, and you should basically come to all of the shows. I MEAN what better way to spend a late lunch hour in the late summer. Five-minute walk from Waverley Station. I'll get the kettle on and the macaroni pies in. If I'm allowed.
On Saturday August 23rd - singer, songwriter and Del Amitri frontman Justin Currie discusses his life, work, music - and new memoir, The Tremolo Diaries - as we spend a virtual afternoon together round at his, with Justin's choice of a Scottish album, film and book to keep us occupied: he'll tell us what they mean to him, and why... He might even throw in some imaginary snacks. (Justin once brought me a Danish pastry that may or may not have been half-eaten, so let's just say, expectations are high.)
